<p>Responsible for the food service establishment serving faculty, staff and students. Ensure that the café provides safe, eye-appealing, properly flavored food. Maintain a safe and sanitary preparation environment.</p> <ul> <li>Position will be posted until filled. </li><li>Work with the Cafe Manager to ensure scheduling needs are met. </li><li>Assist with food preparation and serving operations. </li><li>Maintain regular on-site attendance during normal hours of college operations consistent with expectations and College policies and procedures. </li><li>Answer telephone calls and video conference calls. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned which contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Midway Cafe. </li><li>Follow basic sanitation guidelines outlined by the Café and local Health Department standards. </li><li>Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils. </li><li>Read food order monitor and slips, or receive verbal instructions as to food required by patrons, and prepare and cook food according to instructions. </li><li>Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared. </li><li>Cook and package batches of food, such as hamburgers and fried chicken, which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold. </li><li>Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. </li><li>Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking. </li><li>Assists other staff members in their duties if and when required. </li><li>Greets guests in a friendly, cheerful and courteous way when bringing completed orders to the window for pick-up. </li><li>Keeps the area neat and tidy. Clean spills and trash as necessary. </li><li>Ensure all end of shift cleaning is complete and checklist has been followed and initialed. </li><li>Participate in professional development activities provided by NCC. </li><li>Participate in College events and activities. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees may request reasonable accommodation(s) if necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain stationary position, sitting or standing, for extended periods of time. </li><li>Operate a cash register, stove, fryer. </li><li>Ability to keep the kitchen clean and orderly. </li><li>Frequently be able to lift and move items weighing 25-30 pounds. </li><li>Occasionally lift, move, transport, install, or remove items weighing up to 50 pounds. </li><li>The ability to communicate information so that others understand. </li><li>The ability to observe details. </li></ul> <p>High School Diploma with at least 2 years' experience in food service. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have a valid ServSafe Certificate. Previous leadership and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.</p>
