<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Certified Teacher</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>7/24/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Central Office</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Job Title:Internship & Workforce Development Advisor</p> <p>Location: New Haven Public High Schools, Itinerant</p> <p>Reports To: Supervisor of College & Career Pathways</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Internship & Workforce Development Advisor serves as a strategic connector between high school students, educators, local businesses, and community partners, facilitating access to a comprehensive career continuum of intentional experiences. This role supports educators, guides students in their post-secondary pursuits, and fosters career-connected pathways that align with students' aspirations through addressing all four pillars of the career continuum: career awareness, , career exposure, career engagement, and career immersion. The advisor will be instrumental in supporting the academy framework, assisting students with securing meaningful employment opportunities, providing comprehensive training on employability skills, and creating district-wide opportunities for each career continuum pillar. Working collaboratively with school counselors, academy teachers, and administrators, this position will develop opportunities that directly align with each career academy plan while establishing and maintaining partnerships with higher education institutions, industry partners, and community organizations.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Student Support & Development</p> <ul> <li>Guide students through career continuum and assist in securing internships and employment </li><li>Provide coaching on employability skills, resume writing, and interview preparation </li><li>Implement and monitor multi-year experiences as students progress through career continuum </li><li>Track participation and outcomes by career academy and career pathway </li></ul> <p>Partnership & Program Development</p> <ul> <li>Cultivate relationships with local businesses, industry partners, and community organizations </li><li>Coordinate introductions between business partners and magnet resource teachers </li><li>Identify internship and employment opportunities aligned with career pathways </li><li>Design district-wide career exploration and exposure programs </li><li>Create assessment tools and maintain database of opportunities </li></ul> <p>Collaboration & Communication</p> <ul> <li>Work with school counselors to integrate career continuum with academic planning </li><li>Partner with administrators to ensure alignment with district and school goals </li><li>Communicate with all stakeholders about career continuum opportunities, developing yearly calendar of career continuum events </li><li>Represent district at workforce development meetings and community events </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>CT Teacher Certification (Leadership Experience preferred) </li><li>Experience in K-12 education, including experience working with industry and/or higher education institutions </li><li>Strong understanding of career academy standards and career continuum models </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships </li><li>Experience working with diverse student populations and community stakeholders </li><li>Proficiency in data management and data analysis </li><li>Knowledge of labor market trends and regional economic development </li></ul> <p>Salary contingent on degree and years of experience:</p> <p>$51,421 - $104,297</p> <p>Certification Requirements:</p> <p>Must possess and maintain the certification requirements as established by Connecticut State Statutes.</p> <p>For information on obtaining a Connecticut State Certification, please follow this link: How to obtain a Connecticut Educator Certificate.</p>
