To provide a safe, functional, and attractive environment for the campus' students, faculty, staff, administrators, and visitors. Work may be assigned independently or as a member of a work team.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a positive appearance across the campus grounds. </li><li>Task may include but not limited to the following: plant/water flowers, trim bushes, pruning, tree branch removal leaf pick up </li><li>Salt ice when needed </li><li>Maintain all grounds equipment and related vehicles. </li><li>Assist in set-up / break-down for special events </li><li>Assist team members as needed </li><li>Provide on-call and after-hours' coverage. </li><li>Assist the mechanical and general maintenance men. </li><li>Operate light or medium weight trucks and equipment to include tractors </li><li>Work directed by Facility Management. </li><li>Remain up-to-date and informed as to current practices of job-related functions. </li><li>Work with other people that may be contacted in an agreeable manner. </li><li>Cooperate with other people within the department and other department personnel in completing assigned tasks. </li><li>Display the necessary initiative and dependability to work alone or in groups. </li><li>Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with department policies and procedures. </li><li>Complete daily work orders and PM's. This position receives specific direction about work to be accomplished and common/preferred work methods. Able to read and comprehend blueprints. </li><li>Must have basic computer knowledge to include Microsoft Outlook </li><li>Good health with adequate strength and endurance to perform the work described in various types of weather. </li><li>Deal with employees, management, and client's guests and employees with tact and courtesy. </li><li>Possess a valid driver's license.
