<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Title: Social Worker</p> <p>Reports To: Director of Pupil Services and the Building Principal</p> <p>Location: East Haven Academy</p> <p>Education: The successful candidate must hold current CT certification in Social Work (071).</p> <p>Salary: Per the EHEA/Teacher Contract</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>To be able to consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, and outside providers in promoting student success </li><li>Understand special education and be current regarding Federal and State laws, District policies, PPT and referral process and IEP knowledge </li><li>To know how to refer to the Court </li><li>DCF mandates and hotline knowledge </li><li>To be able to complete psychosocial assessments, developmental histories, FBA's, BIP's, writing IEP goals and objectives </li><li>Crisis Intervention: social, emotional, behavioral, psychiatric </li><li>Be knowledgeable and current regarding available community resources </li><li>Provide individual and group counseling/social skills services for both IEP mandated, and through parental permission with non-IEP students in need </li><li>Provide parent education, resources and home visits, as needed </li></ul> <p>Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.</p> <p>This is a specialized teaching position that falls under the Teachers' Contract.</p> <p>This job description is not, nor is it intended to be, a complete statement of all duties, functions, and responsibilities which comprises this position.</p> <p>East Haven Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer.
