<p>Nature of Work</p> <p>The West Virginia State Tax Division is seeking a candidate who, under limited supervision, will perform supervisory work in residential, commercial, industrial, natural resources or personal properties appraisal for taxation purposes. Work involves planning, organizing, assigning, reviewing and evaluating the work of subordinate professional and clerical support staff in appraisal methodology, procedure and results. This position can serve as witnesses in court and administrative hearings. The position will ensure training for new employees and/or county assessor employees. Travel will be required including statewide and overnight travel, so a valid driver's license also is required. Work is subject to review by an Appraiser Manager. This position may be based in any of our regional offices (Beckley, Charleston, Clarksburg, Martinsburg, Parkersburg or Wheeling) but can be asked to travel anywhere in the state.
