<p>Responsibilities for this Position</p> <p>Manager of Supply Chain (General Procurement)</p> <p>US-CT-Groton</p> <p>Job ID: 2025-15736</p> <p>Type: Full-Time</p> <p># of Openings: 1</p> <p>Category: Purchasing</p> <p>EB Groton Shipyard</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>This position is for a Manager of Supply Chain- General Purchasing, Coded & Specialty Materials reporting to a Director of Procurement, Build to Print and Commodities. Individual will manage a salaried workforce responsible for buying and contract administration of coded & specialty materials. Responsibilities will include managing personnel in all aspects of supply chain and supplier interface including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Mentoring and training workforce </li><li>Review of supplier proposals for adequacy and compliance including supplier capacity assessments, contract terms and conditions, cost/price analysis, negotiation of price, delivery and other terms and conditions </li><li>Oversight of all contract administration including managing the supplier, as well internal departments, to ensure successful contract performance </li><li>Oversight of material and services prioritization to support shipyard needs </li><li>Resolution of problems affecting contract performance and shipyard schedules </li><li>Supplier development and relationship management </li><li>Review and approval of purchase orders and subcontract closeout </li><li>Material and services prioritization to support shipyard needs, resolution of problems affecting contract performance and shipyard schedules </li><li>Travel to supplier facilities will be required to fulfill this job </li></ul> <p>Management duties will include training and development of personnel, approval and distribution of work and prioritization, review and approval of work product, labor budget development, labor approvals and progressing, assuring timely completion of work assignments, and salaried performance reviews, etc.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Successful candidate must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated strong work ethic for completing tasks and work assignments on time. </li><li>Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and excellent computer skills </li><li>Strong written and oral communication skills are required </li><li>Candidate must be an effective writer/reviewer of technical correspondence </li><li>Multi-tasking/work prioritization </li><li>Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with senior Navy leadership </li><li>The ability to interface effectively with Shipyard End Users, Program Office, EB Engineering and Quality Personnel, Quonset Point and Groton Machine Shops, Supplier Senior Level Executives, as well as Senior Electric Boat Management Staff is essential </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>A Bachelors degree </li><li>6+ years experience in Materials Acquisition, Supply Chain Management, Program Office, Engineering, Contracts, Finance </li><li>A minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience </li><li>Travel required approximately one week a month on average with the United States </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>A Bachelors degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Marketing or Economics </li><li>Experience working with Senior Management within an organization in addition to Supply Chain Base stakeholders </li><li>Experience working with the specified commodities such as cabling, penetrators, furniture, lumber, non-metalics, lumber, & fasteners </li><li>Experience in Military procurement </li></ul> <p>Pre-Interview Assignment:</p> <p>If selected for an interview and as part of the interviewing process, candidates may be asked to develop a 30-60-90 day plan of action. This plan should outline priorities and strategies for the first 3 months in the role, including how you would approach key responsibilities and integrate into the team.</p>
