<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Job Purpose:</p> <p>The Navigator for Military and Veterans Programs performs admissions counseling and enrollment activities for the College's military affiliated student population in coordination with other departments. Processes and evaluates applications for admissions. Communicates with applicants on assigned case load regarding additional requirements, including but not limited to residency, test scores, transcripts, and other supporting documentation. Advises military affiliated students on next steps in the enrollment process and provides support as students transition to college life. Inputs accurate data into assigned software.</p> <p>Job Functions:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Participates in recruiting events geared towards military affiliated students welcoming and communicating with the public, prospective students and their families about the College's programs, military affiliated student services, policies and procedures. Provides career and academic counseling advising to prospective students.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a presence, as coordinated with the Director, at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island and TCL's other campuses to provide required advising to current and prospective military affiliated students. Develop and maintain partnerships with local military installations, including base education centers and transition assistance offices, to promote TCL programs and expand enrollment pipelines from active duty and veteran populations.</p> </li></ol> <p>3.In coordination with the HUB, manage an early alert program for military affiliated students using real time data to proactively improve student success. Provide first level targeted interventions and strategic care to miliary affiliated students by coordinating between students, faculty and other student support services including but not limited to tutoring, personal counseling and disability services.</p> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Advises military affiliated students on a variety of personal, social, financial, career and academic matters in support of guided pathways. Manage advisee caseload and personalized communication while maintaining accurate, detailed records of all advising contacts.</p> </li><li> <p>Guide active-duty service members, veterans and their affiliates through the application and certification process for VA educational benefits, including Chapters 30, 31, 33, 35, and 1606, as well as Tuition Assistance (TA) and MyCAA and monitoring the progress of those students.</p> </li><li> <p>Preforms all other duties as may be assigned by the Director.</p> </li></ol> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>A bachelor's degree with experience at an institution of higher education and/or prior military experience is preferred.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>The Technical College of the Lowcountry seeks to be the first choice for higher education in South Carolina's Low Country Region.
