We are currently seeking a dedicated Residential Housekeeper to maintain a high standard of cleanliness across our community-including residential living areas, Personal and Nursing Care spaces, public/common areas, and administrative offices. This vital role ensures the safe and responsible use of cleaning equipment and chemicals, supports infection control standards, and helps set up for special events. If you're looking to make a meaningful impact while working in a supportive, mission-driven community, we'd love to hear from you!</p> <p>Summary of Responsibilities:</p> <p>The Residential Housekeeper provides a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of the facility to ensure a healthy and attractive environment for residents and staff. Responsible for cleaning residential living (apartments, villas, cottages and vistas), Personal Care, Nursing Care , Core/Administration areas, public areas, and common areas.</p> <p>The content of this job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work expectations performed by incumbents in this classification. All activities are completed in accord with the mission, vision and values of the Company, following all policies, procedures, Equal Employment Opportunity laws, patient confidentiality, and other Federal, State and Local laws and regulations, as appropriate.</p> <p>Essential Functions/Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Adheres to proper and regulatory procedures for cleaning and sanitizing the facility, complying with essential job tasks while striving for a high-quality standard. </li><li>Maintains satisfactory standards in the safe and responsible use of chemicals and equipment. </li><li>Sorts, counts, stocks and distributes clean linen items as required. </li><li>Follows all prescribe cleaning procedures for various areas of the facility including routine inspections of area of leadership. </li><li>Moves and exchange carts, take down and re-hang sheers and drapes. </li><li>Always utilizes Standard precautions for infection control. </li><li>Move furniture items, as needed, to facilitate cleaning or to set up tables and chairs etc. for special functions. Occasionally climb ladders to complete cleaning assignments. </li><li>Demonstrates interest in learning additional aspects of the job. </li><li>Demonstrates excellent customer service skills by responding to service requests with a positive attitude and sense of urgency. </li><li>Follows schedules and time frames for tasks to be completed. </li><li>Provides a positive role model especially during new employee training. Provides encouragement and positive examples of life at The Highlands at Wyomissing. </li><li>Assures the safety of the residents within the facility. </li></ul> <p>Position Type/Expected Hours of Work</p> <p>This is a per diem position. Standards days and hours of work are Monday through Friday and every other weekend, with a flexible schedule of up to 58 hours per biweekly pay period around 1st, or 2nd shift hours, or a combination of shift/hours as required by the service plan. The position requires the ability to work during nonstandard hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and inclement weather, and to be available when the need arises.</p> <p>Education and Experience Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED (Required) </li><li>1-3 Years of experience working with Senior Adults or in a customer service setting </li><li>1-3 Years prior housekeeping experience (Preferred) </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Possesses outstanding customer service ability </li><li>Reaches maximum productivity after on-the-job training </li><li>Demonstrated Leadership skills </li></ul> <p>Certification and Licensure Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Check (preferred) </li></ul> <p>Work Authorization/Security Clearances:</p> <ul> <li>Medical Screening </li><li>Criminal History Clearance </li><li>FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Only required if you have not lived in PA for the last 2 years) </li><li>Immigration and naturalization (I-9) Clearance </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements and Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. </li><li>Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone. </li><li>Writing: Must be able to accurately document pertinent information either by writing or typing. </li><li>Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. </li><li>Continuously within shift (67-100%): Standing, Walking, Lifting 10 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying objects </li><li>Frequently within shift (34-66%): </li><li>Climbing, Bending, Crouching, Squatting, Lifting 20 lbs. maximum and frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. </li><li>Occasionally within shift (1-33%): Crawling, Kneeling, Pulling with force, Reaching above head, Lift from floor level up, Lift from waist level up, Lift above shoulders/head, Lifting 50 lbs. maximum and frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. </li></ul> <p>Safety Hazards and Physical Environment:</p> <ul> <li>May be exposed to blood-borne pathogens - Low Risk </li><li>May be exposed to communicable disease </li><li>May be exposed to extreme conditions, (i.e. heat or cold) </li><li>May be exposed to moving mechanical parts </li><li>May be exposed to potential electrical shock </li><li>May be exposed to toxic, caustic, chemicals, and/or detergents </li><li>May be exposed to rare occasions during which it is necessary to interact with a resident exhibiting aggressive behavior. </li></ul>
