<p>Position: Safety Compliance Coordinator - Logs</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Under the direction of the Safety Department Manager, the Safety Compliance Coordinator - Logs is responsible for driver electronic and paper log oversight in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policy. Previous experience in transportation safety coordination is recommended.</p> <p>Core Responsibilities & Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Assist drivers with day-to-day HOS-ELD issues/questions </li><li>As directed by Safety Manager run and audit HOS reports daily </li><li>As required, places vehicles/drivers out-of-service for HOS related violations </li><li>Provide log instruction to drivers </li><li>Audit & edit logs to correct driver mistakes </li><li>Communicate DOT Regulations and DOT interpretations in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations </li><li>Maintain and track audit reports </li><li>Copy and distribute documents as requested </li><li>Assist all Safety Department incoming phone calls and inquiries </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Graduation from high school or GED equivalent </li><li>Computer skills: Excel, Word, Internet, AS400 and web-based systems </li><li>Requires strong interpersonal & communication skills, compliance, implementation, and auditing tasks </li><li>Must be familiar with standard DOT or Agency Compliance concepts, practices, and procedures </li><li>Excellent writing & proof-reading skills as well as superior verbal & organizational skills </li><li>Goal oriented, self-managing with time & project consideration </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of standard DOT Compliance concepts, practices, & procedures. Ability to handle a heavy workload </li><li>Ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion and meet various and required deadlines </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, drivers, and managers </li><li>Work in a "Confidential Capacity" </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment </li></ul> <p>Forward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer.</p> <p>#FWRD2</p>
