We do this by having higher standards, sourcing locally and sustainably, and caring more for the people and communities we serve.</p> <p>The Role</p> <p>The Facilities Technician Level 2 in Role is responsible for performing routine and basic facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks, often under moderate supervision. You will install, inspect, and repair systems like mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems, and assist with miscellaneous facility projects.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Maintain plant equipment, primarily related to manufacturing kitchen appliances and refrigeration equipment. </li><li>Learning to balance other distribution center equipment at the FreshDirect Campus. </li><li>Execute the plant preventive maintenance program. </li><li>Proficient with conveyor system machinery to support the maintenance team and/or train others as needed. </li><li>Strong working knowledge of all facets of manufacturing equipment and procedures. </li><li>3-4 years of repair and maintenance experience in Industrial or commercial kitchens. </li><li>Technical education related to mechanical engineering or equivalent experience is required. </li><li>Exceptional ability to work independently without direct supervision and take. </li><li>Read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints. </li><li>Working knowledge of three phase motors and control circuits. </li><li>Mechanical experience with varied kitchen, refrigeration, and distribution center machinery is desired. </li><li>OSHA safety certification is PLUS. </li><li>Must be able to lift fifty pounds. </li><li>In a workday: standing/walking 8-12 hours. </li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. </li><li>Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. </li><li>Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. </li><li>Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals. </li><li>Ability to work in a wet and cold environment. </li><li>Constant exposure to temperatures: <-10 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators) </li></ul> <p>What You Bring</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required. </li><li>1-3 years of repair and maintenance experience. </li><li>Exceptional ability to work on directed tasks, complete on time with superior quality. </li><li>Basic understanding of electricity and hazards of electricity. </li><li>OSHA safety certification is a PLUS. </li><li>Must be able to lift fifty pounds. </li><li>In a workday: standing/walking 8-12 hours. </li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. </li><li>Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. </li><li>Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. </li><li>Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals. </li><li>Ability to work in a wet and cold environment. </li><li>Work assignments may include building zones below zero temperature. </li><li>May be required to work up to 10 hours in 32-38-degree temperatures. </li></ul> <p>What we Offer</p> <ul> <li>The expected compensation for this role is between $18.00 to $19.00 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.
