<p>Job Description and Duties</p> <p>Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).</p> <p>Under the supervision of the Chief Counsel and Assistant Chief Counsel, the Attorney III advises the Board of Parole hearings (BPH) and its employees on all legal matters affecting policies and operations.</p> <p>The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user-friendly system that provides the applicant access to realtime updates throughout the hiring process. HRTS will require new candidates to set up an account, which allows them to track their application's progress. Through their account portal, candidates will also be able to provide any additional information needed in the hiring process, including setting up interviews as needed. Staff are expected to be in the office up to four days a week. On occasion, travel may be necessary to other California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) offices (Elk Grove and Rancho Cordova), CDCR institutions, or other locations in California.</p> <p>Employees are expected to maintain normal and consistent work hours, averaging 40 hours per week. Work in excess of 40 hours per week is expected, when necessary, to complete assignments in a timely manner. The BPH Legal Division strives for work life balance and these positions include substantial vacation and holiday time.</p> <p>Employees who are teleworking are expected to maintain a safe and distraction free work environment at the approved alternate work location.
