The APP will assist physicians and other nursing personnel in the delivery of primary health care and patient care. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assess, plan and provide care. Perform patient examinations, compile appropriate patient information and documentation. Review patient reports and make appropriate recommendations and refill medications. As such, PAs and NPs who have worked within Family and Community Medicine, for at least 1 year, will be scheduled to precept PA and NP students from our partnering programs.</p> <p>What We Require:</p> <p>Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.</p> <p>Experience: Clinical experience appropriate to specific practice/ department preferred.</p> <p>Licensure/Certification: Current Physician Assistants license (PA) required. DEA licensure required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced life support is preferred and is required for those who may use a defibrillator in their practice.</p> <p>Other: Meets credentialing requirements. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic's malpractice insurance carrier. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Maintains open and supportive communications between all department members and other employees, patients and their family members.
