<p>Job Summary</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>We're seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious CTL Operator to join our production team. In this role, you'll operate cut-to-length machinery to process coil metal products according to customer specifications. You'll work closely with setup personnel and helpers to ensure efficient and accurate production while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Machine Operation & Setup</p> <ul> <li>Review shop orders and plan work by combining orders and staging coils. </li><li>Prepare CTL equipment and ensure all components are properly aligned. </li><li>Load coils onto the uncoiler and feed through the crop shear and slitter head. </li><li>Inspect coils for edge damage, rust, and material type. </li><li>Measure and record coil width and thickness; report discrepancies to CSR. </li><li>Adjust tension, drag pads, and arm assemblies for proper alignment. </li><li>Run coils to specified outer diameter (OD) per shop order. </li></ul> <p>Quality Control & Documentation</p> <ul> <li>Complete shift reports and inspection sheets using blue or black ink. </li><li>Inspect for surface defects such as white rust, damage, or full center. </li><li>Record measurements and maintain accurate production documentation. </li></ul> <p>Team Support & Communication</p> <ul> <li>Assist setup personnel and helpers during production runs. </li><li>Notify crane operator before line backups occur. </li><li>Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. </li></ul> <p>Inventory & Housekeeping</p> <ul> <li>Monitor inventory levels of forms, tape, and cores; report shortages. </li><li>Maintain a clean and organized work area; direct team members to remove clutter and mop floors regularly. </li></ul> <p>Training Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Forklift Certification </li><li>Overhead Crane Training </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset </li><li>Positive attitude and punctuality </li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision </li><li>Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes </li><li>Familiarity with coil metal products and CTL machinery </li><li>Understanding of flatness standards and cutting tolerances </li><li>Ability to follow written and verbal instructions </li><li>Clear communication skills with internal teams </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <ul> <li>Competitive pay </li><li>Opportunities for growth and advancement </li><li>Supportive team environment </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance (Ascend/Descend, Work atop, Traverse), Walk(Move, Traverse)</p> <p>Function in the Job</p> <p>Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.</p>
