Also after hours emergency responses as needed.</p> <p>VP Area President Department 01751 - ACADEMIC DISTRICT Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range $65,000 - $75,000 Close Date 08/04/2026 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary</p> <p>Facilities Management</p> <p>Direct/Manage/Supervise the overall operation and maintenance of building, equipment, and grounds. Maintain compliance with all procedures, policies, and regulations and ensure timely response to regulatory issues and inspection findings. Plan facilities' organizational structure to accommodate growth and change in priorities. Determine needs for equipment leases, purchases, and services. Negotiate contracts with vendors and maintain vendor relationships. Ensure that projects meet specifications and budgets. Ensure that necessary licenses and permits are obtained. May act as liaison to leasing and property management organizations and planning commissions. May also be responsible for facilities' security, in the absence of dedicated security staff. Coordinate and lead daily team activities. May spend a portion of time performing the work of those they supervise. Assist with management decisions and activities. Working knowledge of team function within the organization.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Oversees the maintenance and operation of buildings, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing. This includes all MEP staff, vendors, coordinating repairs, developing preventative maintenance plans, and managing budgets for building maintenance. They also play a role in ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards, as well as coordinating with other departments and stakeholders.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Hiring, training, and managing MEP personnel, including performance appraisals and disciplinary actions. </li><li>Manage payroll & absence management </li><li>Ensures PM and CM completion </li><li>Manage staff schedules (on call, overtime, event schedules, etc.) </li><li>Ensures quality of PMs and Work Performed by Staff. </li></ul> <p>Customer Service:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborating with other university departments, project managers, and external contractors on maintenance and construction projects. </li><li>Conduct regular inspections to ensure standards are consistently met </li><li>Regularly meet with customers to make sure their needs are being met </li><li>Act as point of contact for building managers, resolving maintenance related issues. </li><li>Develop, solicit, and manage long term maintenance contracts </li><li>Ensure all contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and corporate standards. </li><li>Maintain accurate and organized contract databases; ensure timely updates and audits. </li></ul> <p>Manager Tasks:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinating Repairs and Maintenance - Overseeing the scheduling and completion of repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency maintenance on building assets. </li><li>Developing and Implementing Maintenance Plans - Creating and executing plans to ensure maintenance tasks are performed regularly in order to maintain the University maintenance standards. </li><li>Managing Budgets - Developing and managing budgets for building maintenance, including labor, materials, and equipment </li><li>Ensuring Compliance - Ensuring that all building maintenance activities comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and university policies and that employees are properly trained. </li><li>Assist and fill in for peers as needed. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).</p> <p>Supervisor, Facilities Management: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree.</p> <p>Preferences</p> <p>Degree in mechanical engineering, facilities management or related field of study.
