<p>Responsibilities for this Position</p> <p>Rigger - Skilled</p> <p>US-CT-Groton</p> <p>Job ID: 2025-14864</p> <p>Type: Full-Time</p> <p># of Openings: 2</p> <p>Category: Manufacturing Support/Trades</p> <p>EB Groton Shipyard</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Candidates for Rigger will be trained in the following requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Selection and use of wire rope, chain and synthetic web slings, rigging hardware, and lifting devices </li><li>Interpretation of rated charts for rigging gear </li><li>Safe rigging practices and procedures </li><li>Hand and radio communications and the responsibilities of the Rigger in Charge </li><li>Determination of weight and center of gravity of loads </li><li>Selection and use of hoists, chain falls and come-alongs </li><li>Lifting and Handling gear inspection </li></ul> <p>Using the above acquired skills the rigger will be expected to support the following shipbuilding processes:</p> <ul> <li>Support the assembly and disassembly of machinery and equipment on and off the ships </li><li>Responsible for lifting, moving and positioning ships and shipyard machinery, equipment, structural parts and other heavy loads </li><li>Rig nuclear components </li><li>Working under radiological controls (obtain and work with a TLD).
