<p>The Student Assistant (FWS) provides support to the Global Travel Safety and Health (GTSH) office with various projects, including but not limited to:</p> <p>Review various daily incident reporting sites, with a particular emphasis on climate change and weather events, as well as endemic medical issues. Track prevailing trends in global affairs and assist the GTSH staff in evaluating the potential impact of these trends on the USF Global community. Work with the immunization office at USF and the GTSH team to determine steps to reduce the vulnerability of the USF traveling community to endemic diseases. Assisting with GTSH team with an update to the USF World website. Assisting team members with review, updating and editing of orientation briefings for faculty led programs, associate travel briefings, and requested briefings for higher threat travel. Assisting with information requests within the GTSH office that may require web re-searching, gathering, compiling. and updating data and records.</p> <p>Working at USF</p> <p>With approximately 16,000 employees, the University of South Florida is one of the largest employers in the Tampa Bay area. This job description does not constitute an employment contract.</p> <p>The Student Assistant (FWS) provides support to the Global Travel Safety and Health (GTSH) office· with various projects.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications: Applicant must have a current Federal Work Study (FWS) award for the current academic year in order to apply for this position and must upload award for verification. Applicants are asked to demonstrate proof of their FWS award by saving their "Award Overview" screen from OASIS as a print screen and then pasting it into a Word document and upload it as part of any additional required application materials. If other documents (in addition to your FWS award) are required as part of your application, you must upload ALL documents as one document.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Computer knowledge (Microsoft office, internet and outlook). Knowledge of world geography. Current global politics, and/ or epidemiology.</p> <p>Provide support to the Global Travel Safety and Health (GTSH) office in generating routine documents, including SCED reports, Verification of Insurance Letters, and reminders to student travelers.</p> <p>Routinely update the GTSH incident databases and manage individual files for major cases.</p> <p>Create Student Related Travel (SRT) programs and update the SRT database as needed</p> <p>Routinely review the Terra Dotta System (TDS) for completion. Send reminder emails to students with incomplete applications.</p> <p>Assist the GTSH Coordinator in submitting necessary report to USFs international insurance service provider (ISOS).</p> <p>Routinely review the Archivum database for students not registered in TDS, and for faculty and staff traveling to DoS Travel Advisory level 3 or 4 locations, as well as locations designated as war zones by USFs international insurance provider</p> <p>Assisting with information requests with the GTSH office that may require web researching, gathering, compiling and updating data and records.</p> <p>Assisting with other duties as necessary</p>
