<p>At U.S. Boiler Company, we are proud to offer residential and commercial heating products that have been designed, engineered, and manufactured domestically. Headquartered in Lancaster, PA, our facilities employ nearly 300 people from our community. Every product that leaves our factory has been designed, engineered, and produced for exclusive use in North America. U.S. Boiler Company is a subsidiary of Burnham Holdings, Inc.</p> <p>We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team! This position will supervise, and coordinate union-hourly workers engaged in the manufacturing of parts or products, in addition to verifying conformance to quality standards. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and experienced in the manufacturing field. Supervisory experience preferred.</p> <p>This is a full-time position located in Lancaster, PA.</p> <p>Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Directly supervises employees according to company policies and procedures, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. </li><li>Ensures all departmental operations are performed in accordance with the established safety, quality, environmental and administrative guidelines/policies. </li><li>Engages daily with employees to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery & Value results are achieved. </li><li>Captures data & information resulting from daily engagements. </li><li>Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage areas. </li><li>Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met </li><li>Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards. </li><li>Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules </li><li>Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products. </li><li>Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. </li><li>Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. </li><li>Maintains time and production records. </li><li>Coaches, mentors, and develops personnel, including other leaders. </li><li>Responsibilities may include project support & management in operational areas. </li></ul> <p>Secondary Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders, and assigns duties. Confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. </li><li>Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability </li></ul> <p>Qualifications/Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>One year certificate from college or technical school; or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Experience with hand and power tools </li><li>One to three years of supervisory experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
