<p>GENERAL SUMMARY</p> <p>Under the direct supervision of the Dietetic Managers, the Patient Services Supervisor ensures the efficient functioning of all aspects of the patient meal assembly and distribution process from Main Dietary Kitchen operations to the delivery of meal trays into the patient rooms. Provides guidance and training to ensure appropriate communications between the nursing units and Dietetic Services regarding patient menus, diet changes, and general patient services. Ensures the accurate deployment of menu tallies for food production, NPO and tube feeding protocol monitoring. Creates an environment among the Dietary Office staff to react accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and the accuracy of physician's ordered modified diets. Supervises and coordinates the activities of all Lead Therapeutic Dietetic Assistant and Therapeutic Dietetic Assistant (TDA), Dietary Service Aides, Nourishment Clerks and Kitchen Assistants. Responsible for creating and updating daily work schedules as appropriate to ensure adequate scheduled staffing and ongoing training of Lead TDA's, TDA's, DSA, Nourishment Clerks and Kitchen Assistants staff. Effectively and efficiently defuses patient concerns using staff input. Supervises and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in the assembly and service of patient meals, and in the maintenance of all dishware and floor care. Exemplifies, encourages, and holds staff accountable to a consistently high customer service standard in keeping with departmental philosophy. Creates initiatives, applies technologies and best practices guidelines that support successful outcomes of the Bedside Menu Entry and Room Service programs. Organizes, conducts, and maintains customer service PI functions and reports those critically related to meal assembly and delivery. Directly and frequently reports operational procedures and changes to Patient Services Section Manager. Appropriately monitors performance of Lead TDA's, TDA's, DSA, Nourishment Clerks and Kitchen Assistants. Participates in interviews, assists in staff selection, conducts and/or provides input into disciplinary actions as appropriate in accordance with Human Resources guidelines. Completes input for employee performance evaluations in a timely manner. Involved in coaching, training and developing new team members. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Hospitality Services or similar Customer Service certification/credential, with employment history that demonstrates supervisory experience. </li><li>Demonstrated critical thinking, organizational, and time management skills. </li><li>Must be excellent communicator: both written and verbal communication skills essential. </li><li>Must be highly computer literate. </li><li>Proof of hospital diet office experience, and/or knowledge of Computrition diet office a plus. </li><li>Must work well autonomously, be courteous, be flexible, adjust to operational demands, and demonstrate ability to work in a fast paced environment. </li></ul>
