<p>TITLE: SOCIAL WORKER</p> <p>NOTE: This position will be full time at Rosemore Middle School, but the position an employee of the ESC of Central Ohio.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Valid Ohio certification/license </li><li>Master's degree in social work, and </li><li>One year of successful experience in a chartered school or school district under a professional license; or one year of social work experience under a current license issued by the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board; or a graduate level social work practicum of at least of at least ten weeks in a chartered school or school district; and </li><li>Current license to practice social work issued by the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board. </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO: Building Principal</p> <p>JOB GOAL: To help students resolve personal, emotional, and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their capacity to enjoy the fullest benefits of the education offered them.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Performs casework service with individual students to correct those personal, social or emotional mal-adjustments related to their educational and social progress.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs casework service with parents to increase the parents' understanding, their constructive participation in resolving their child's problems, and their knowledge and use of appropriate resources available.</p> </li><li> <p>Consults and collaborates with other school personnel, particularly intervention specialists, ingathering and giving information on a case, and in establishing and planning for respective roles in the modification of student's behavior.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise the referral of students to, and serves as liaison with, such outside agencies as the Welfare Department, Family and Children's Services, Juvenile Court, and Public Safety, as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Makes home visits for the purpose of gathering helpful information on a student's background.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as liaison between home and school when considerable follow-up is necessary, as in welfare cases, foster home children, and disadvantaged children.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists students directly to adjustment towards school.</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps sufficient records of cases for use by school staff members and outside agencies when appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>May serve as member of the IEP or IAT teams as appropriate.</p> </li></ol> <p>ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue. </li><li>May perform strenuous tasks, such as lifting, when working with students. </li><li>Excellent observation and communication skills </li><li>Supervision of students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, and hallways, or on field trips </li><li>Assisting students with behavioral/management needs </li><li>Ability to interact with a diverse population of internal and external stakeholders. </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year as established by the Board and terms of negotiated contract.</p>
