We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The CDL Class A Driver (Transport) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals.</p> <p>Hours and Wages</p> <ul> <li>Monday-Friday, 9:00PM start - completion of route </li><li>10-15 hours of overtime expected each week </li><li>Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week </li><li>$23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience </li><li>+$2.00 shift premium for start times between 5:00pm - 4:59am </li></ul> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order </li><li>Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms </li><li>Drive between terminals to transport parcels </li><li>Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies </li><li>Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily </li><li>Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to operate a manual transmission </li><li>Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement </li><li>Must possess good customer service and organizational skills </li><li>Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>At least 21 years of age </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred </li><li>Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to pass a DOT physical </li><li>Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally </li><li>Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc. </li><li>Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) Plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and more. </li></ul> <p>EEO and Affirmative Action Statement</p> <p>Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
