<p>Danvers Public Schools is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our innovative Language-Based Learning Disability (LBLD) Program, serving students in Grades 3-5. This specialized program supports students with language-based learning disabilities, including dyslexia, who demonstrate average to above-average cognitive abilities but require structured, multi-sensory instruction to strengthen their literacy and language processing skills. About the LBLD Program: The LBLD Model is designed to empower students through individualized, research-based instruction that targets reading, writing, oral language, and executive functioning. Instruction is delivered in a highly structured, language-rich environment using multi-sensory approaches and a collaborative teaching model. The curriculum is aligned with grade-level standards while also addressing each student's unique learning profile through specially designed instruction and targeted interventions. Reports To: Great Oak Principal Key Responsibilities: Provide direct, specialized instruction in reading, writing, and language using evidence-based methodologies such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LiPS, Seeing Stars, and others. Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that reflect student strengths, needs, and learning goals. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including general educators, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and reading specialists, to ensure comprehensive support for each student. Integrate executive functioning and study skills into daily instruction to promote student independence and organization. Utilize a variety of data sources and progress monitoring tools to assess student growth and adjust instruction accordingly. Provide students with access to assistive technology and tools that support literacy development and academic engagement. Maintain consistent communication with families and participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and family conferences. Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student confidence, engagement, and a love for learning. Administer standardized assessments and develop detailed, comprehensive evaluation reports to support special education eligibility determinations and inform individualized instructional planning.
