<p>OVERVIEW</p> <p>Merrick is hiring an experienced/senior Process Engineer to join our team of engineering and design personnel serving the Nuclear Services & Technology Business Unit in our project office in Los Alamos, NM. The Process Engineer will work on cutting edge nuclear facility and energy projects.</p> <p>Annual salary range for this position is $120,500 - $162,300. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience. In-office/WFH hybrid schedules are offered.</p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL DO</p> <ul> <li> <p>Independently evaluate and solve complex problems with limited guidance from senior staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with other disciplines to improve accuracy of the deliverables, schedule, and budget commitments.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares or oversees process design deliverables including:</p> </li><li> <p>Process Flow Diagrams</p> </li><li> <p>Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams</p> </li><li> <p>Equipment sizing calculations</p> </li><li> <p>Process line sizing calculations</p> </li><li> <p>Pressure relief device sizing calculations</p> </li><li> <p>Mass & energy balances / process simulations</p> </li><li> <p>Equipment and Instrument datasheets</p> </li><li> <p>Piping/equipment specifications</p> </li><li> <p>Interpret customer requirements or code/standard requirements to establish design criteria.</p> </li><li> <p>Meet with clients to develop relationships.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare proposal estimates for design work.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide in-depth and comprehensive technical peer reviews on design documents in a timely manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Technical work/documents are mostly error free and demonstrate self-checking of work before submitting documents for peer review.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to lead process design efforts on projects and be involved in all client meetings pertaining to that project.</p> </li><li> <p>Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning and other technical and economic factors.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to perform almost all process design tasks independently.</p> </li><li> <p>Leading a team of more junior engineers and designers on projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as a formal mentor to more junior engineers.</p> </li><li> <p>Work in a multi-disciplined design team environment.</p> </li><li> <p>PE Stamp design documents on projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Travel to client sites, as needed.</p> </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering from A.B.E.T accredited program required. </li><li>8+ years of related engineering experience required. </li><li>Professional Engineer (P.E.)
