We combine the best of finance, data, and technology to create a truly unique value proposition for both financial services firms and major corporations.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow our backend engineering team. This role is ideal for a seasoned technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about building scalable systems that drive business impact. You will be responsible for guiding architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality backend services and APIs. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and infrastructure teams to evolve our microservices architecture and support rapid feature delivery.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead and manage a team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement. </li><li>Drive architectural decisions and oversee the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable backend systems using C#/.NET and Python. </li><li>Conduct regular code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices in software design, testing, and documentation. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals and product roadmaps. </li><li>Champion performance optimization strategies including caching, query tuning, and load balancing. </li><li>Implement and maintain robust observability practices including monitoring, alerting, and logging. </li><li>Ensure backend systems adhere to security best practices in authentication, authorization, and data protection. </li><li>Guide the team in adopting modern development tools, frameworks, and cloud-native technologies (AWS preferred). </li><li>Own hiring, onboarding, and career development for backend engineers, including coaching and performance management. </li><li>Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and technical roadmap development in partnership with product and engineering leadership. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>7+ years of backend software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a technical leadership or management role. </li><li>Proven expertise in C#/.NET and Python, with deep understanding of asynchronous programming and API development. </li><li>Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, service discovery, and API gateway patterns. </li><li>Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB), including schema design and performance tuning. </li><li>Proficiency in RESTful API standards, OpenAPI/Swagger documentation, and versioning strategies. </li><li>Familiarity with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Airflow/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines. </li><li>Experience with cloud infrastructure and serverless architecture (preferably AWS). </li><li>Understanding of event-driven systems, pub/sub messaging, and asynchronous processing. </li><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders. </li><li>Demonstrated success in recruiting, mentoring, and developing engineering talent. </li></ul> <p>Primary Location: New York, NY (Remote/Hybrid)</p> <p>Salary Range: $140,000-190,000 USD/Annual</p> <p>The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications.
