<ol> <li>Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures operating radiographic and other equipment/devices as appropriate. </li></ol> <p>a. Moves x-ray equipment into specified position and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors.</p> <p>b. Operate mobile x-ray equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient's bedside.</p> <p>c. Transfer images to the PACS system and check image quality and proper identification.</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Positions patient on examination table and adjusts immobilization devices as required to obtain optimum views of specified area of the body requested by physician as determined by department policy and procedure.</p> </li><li> <p>Receive and review requests for radiologic studies. Provide explanation of procedures and answer pertinent questions of patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.</p> </li><li> <p>Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures to ensure safety and comfort while preparing for and while undergoing radiographic procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Applies principles of radiographic protection using beam restriction devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors, to minimize radiation to patients and staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency using and/or modifying established procedures, to assure timely completion of work in conformance with department policies and procedures.</p> </li></ol> <p>a. Evaluates images in the PACS system for technical quality.</p> <p>b. Assist physician with administration of radiographic contrast media or its direct administration if trained and sanctioned by the radiologist.</p> <ol start="7"> <li> <p>Follow established policies, procedures and protocols set forth by the department and ARRT.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in activities which promote professional self-growth and development; meeting minimum requirements for continuing education as directed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Massachusetts Radiation Control Program.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain an ethical relationship with patients, physicians, personnel, and guests and ensures patient confidentiality at all times.</p> </li><li> <p>Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.</p> </li></ol> <ul> <li>Ability to read, write and communicate in English </li><li>Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology </li><li>Must meet one of the following qualifications: </li></ul> <p>o (ARRT) - Registered by the ARRT</p> <p>o Registry eligible and registered within 1 year</p> <ul> <li>Valid Massachusetts State License from the Massachusetts Radiation Control Board in Radiography </li><li>(BLS) - Basic Life Support certification </li></ul>
