In this fast-paced, service-driven role, you'll guide clients through benefit applications, assist those with limited computer experience, and help ensure access to programs like SNAP, FITAP, and more. You'll also play a critical role behind the scenes by supporting office operations and maintaining essential records. If you're passionate about helping others, thrive in a dynamic environment, and want to make a real difference, this is a rewarding opportunity to serve on the front lines of public service.</p> <p>An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:</p> <p>Accepting Direction: The ability to be open and willing to follow guidance or instructions</p> <p>Demonstrating Accountability: The ability to take ownership of actions, behaviors, performance, decisions, and outcomes</p> <p>Managing Resources: The ability to manage financial, physical, and contractual resources to ensure compliance and maximize business value</p> <p>Two years of experience in administrative services.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:</p> <p>Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.</p> <p>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li> Serves as the primary point of contact by greeting clients, answering phones, and assisting customers with accessing services and completing applications for SNAP, FITAP, KINSHIP, and LACAP </li><li> Provides hands-on support to clients using kiosk systems and computers, including assisting individuals with limited computer skills to successfully submit applications </li><li> Utilizes multiple complex systems (LITE, PSIFUSION, ONBASE, INMAR) to process requests such as address updates, benefit verifications, and issuance or replacement of EBT cards </li><li> Maintains program knowledge to identify eligibility for expedited services (SNAPX) and offers voter registration assistance in accordance with policy </li><li> Performs clerical duties including receiving, scanning, and indexing incoming mail and faxes, and preparing outgoing correspondence for distribution </li><li> Participates in ongoing training and professional development to maintain knowledge of program policies, compliance requirements, and disaster response protocols </li><li> Supports disaster response efforts by assisting with Disaster Food Stamp Program operations, interviewing applicants, registering evacuees, coordinating shelter support, and utilizing systems to track and deliver benefits </li></ul> <p>Position-Specific Details:</p> <p>Location: Medical Vendor Administration / ES Thibodeaux Region 3-FSA 1 (ES TRI-REGION 1) / Terrebonne Parish</p> <p>Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a Probationary appointment, Promotional appointment, Job appointment (temporary appointment that may last up to 48 months), or Detail to Special Duty </p> <p>Cost Center: 3052130103</p> <p>Position Number(s): 50689214</p> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.</p> <p>To apply for this vacancy, click on the "Apply" link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
