The Hospice Claims Coordinator's primary job function is to monitor and ensure the billing functions within the department. Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required </li><li>Post High School study in billing preferred </li></ul> <p>Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>BMVL required (Must maintain eligibility to drive as determined by SOMC insurance carriers) </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>One year in billing for Home Care and/or Hospice preferred. </li></ul> <p>JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS</p> <p>The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Specific activities may change from time to time.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Assures that accurate information is maintained and meets current billing requirements and/or standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs appropriate research to solve technical billing issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists Director in the ongoing maintenance of departmental policies and procedures related to billing.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs patient accounts and insurance audits in conjunction with SOMC Billing department.</p> </li><li> <p>Trains new employees related to billing practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Works with payers to ensure accurate, timely, and appropriate billing is submitted.</p> </li><li> <p>Directs entry of account charges and/or adjustments directly into computer system.</p> </li></ol> <p>Thank you for your interest in Southern Ohio Medical Center.
