<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Part time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>Rotating Shift</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Phlebotomist to join our team!</p> <p>Schedule: Per Diem/Pool. Work week and weekends as needed all shifts for scheduling coverage and call outs.</p> <p>Responsible for the collection of blood samples from inpatients in a timely manner and delivery to the lab for testing. Working with computers and centrifuge as well as instrument lines for processing blood samples. Position requires an experienced, highly-skilled technician who can work with a minimum of supervision. Must be responsible, reliable, dedicated and focused on their duties for prompt and efficient patient care.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Properly identifies out patients by verbal confirmation and positive identification system.</p> </li><li> <p>Properly identifies and labels patients specimens for Blood Bank testing using the positive patient identification system.</p> </li><li> <p>Properly identifies patients and adequately performs venipunctures and/or skin punctures.</p> </li><li> <p>Uses appropriate aseptic technique to draw blood cultures</p> </li><li> <p>Clearly and accurately labels all specimens immediately after venipuncture and completes necessary documentation</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates specimen adequacy Receives specimens in the computer and delivers them to the appropriate department</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors inventory levels and follows appropriate protocol for re-ordering supplies</p> </li><li> <p>Deletes or cancels orders as necessary with full documentation of reason and colleague they spoke with.</p> </li><li> <p>Collates requests, answers the telephone, delivers specimens to appropriate department and operates the pneumatic tube Always demonstrates proper telephone etiquette</p> </li><li> <p>Consistently assumes responsibility for calls, correctly answers questions, directs inquiries and takes messages</p> </li><li> <p>Adapts work schedule to meet emergency staffing needs Is responsive, courteous, respectful and cooperative in completing tasks</p> </li><li> <p>Collects TIMED and STAT tests within designated time period</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains supplies, carts, workstations in a neat, clean and orderly manner</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other related duties as required</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>High School Diploma/Equivalent required</p> <p>Phlebotomy Certification preferred</p> <p>What We Offer:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Competitive Salary</p> </li><li> <p>Retirement Savings Program</p> </li><li> <p>Free Parking</p> </li><li> <p>And more!</p> </li></ul> <p>Our Commitment</p> <p>Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
