<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by taking a lead role in coordinating and overseeing the recruitment of international students and students living abroad through the development of enrollment initiatives.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Recruits, interviews, and reviews prospective students for admission and scholarship. </li><li>Includes degree-seeking and non-degree-seeking applicants and international students as well as U.S. citizens living abroad. </li><li>Makes decisions on application files. </li><li>Application management to include gathering information for incomplete files, preparing completed applications, making decisions on student applicants, and cultivating applicants from a specific geographic location. </li><li>Ensures that all visiting students and families have a pleasant and informative visit to campus by supporting the success of various student-visit programs through conducting information sessions, campus tours, one-on-one interviews, virtual webinars and meetings, and collaborating with a wide variety of departments and offices across campus. </li><li>Works with the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and other senior officers to develop effective communication with international community groups. </li><li>Develops and manages recruitment initiatives from inquiry to enrollment for assigned markets. </li><li>Assists the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management with identifying new target populations of diverse students. </li><li>Meets with the appropriate faculty members to discuss enrollment goals and initiatives for international student populations. </li><li>Serves on appropriate departmental and institutional committees. </li><li>Counsels and advises students about financial aid eligibility, financial aid application procedures, aid programs, costs, and indebtedness. </li><li>Confers regularly with the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and members of the university community to plan, coordinate, and participate in activities, exchange information, resolve problems, and promote a campus-wide awareness of enrollment activities-especially those related to international students. </li><li>Tracks and reports on national and international trends related to international student populations. </li><li>Represents the University at on and off-campus events, including open houses, regional events, academic showcases, and strategic high school visits. May include international travel. </li><li>Cooperates in long-term and short-term tasks that further the mission of Norwich University. </li></ul> <p>Other Functions</p> <ul> <li>Maintains confidentiality of sensitive or private information. </li><li>Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner. </li><li>Serves on University committees, councils, workgroups or other designated bodies as assigned. </li><li>Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software. </li><li>Speaks, reads and writes in English. </li><li>Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device. </li><li>Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. Progression toward an advanced degree is desirable. </li><li>3 years of international admission and recruiting experience. </li><li>1 year of experience serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) through the Student & Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). </li><li>An understanding of and sensitivity to multicultural and diversity issues. </li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of Admissions operations. </li><li>Comprehensive understanding of the goals and objectives of a small, private liberal arts educational institution. </li><li>A valid passport is required. </li><li>A valid driver's license is required </li><li>Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook); experience with Banner and Slate preferred </li><li>Experience with computerized information systems and operating systems, including Windows. Familiarity with data network processes. </li><li>Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 20 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus </li><li>Schedule will include some evening or weekend hours </li><li>Travel as needed (public or private transportation) </li></ul> <p>Environmental Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Indoor work at a computer workstation </li><li>Low level of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Norwich University is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing a positive education and work environment that recognizes and respects the dignity of all students, faculty and staff.
