<p>The Radiology Tech 2 - Operating Room arranges patients for advanced radiological examinations in the surgical suite setting. Produces radiographs (x-rays)/ images to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of medical problems, display knowledge competency of aseptic technique, and possess knowledge of principles of radiation safety in the OR setting. Uses pre-established imaging protocols and departmental policy to perform safe operation of imaging equipment and all functions of the job. Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family. The OR rad tech 2 is able to evaluate competency of others, perform the duties of a preceptor, and oversight of students. Reports to Supervisor or Manager.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintains a proper sterile field during surgical procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Process, review and evaluate images determine if they are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform general administrative tasks, such as answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, or pulling and filing films.</p> </li><li> <p>Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide assistance to physicians or other technologists in the performance of advanced and/or complex procedures in the perioperative area.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate digital picture archiving communications systems. Also must operate fluoroscope to aid physician to view and guide wire or catheter through blood vessels to area of interest.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate mobile x-ray equipment in the operating room or at patient's bedside, using radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate all aspects of C-Arm equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Determine patients' x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians.</p> </li><li> <p>Offer guidance to students and technologists for better image quality and provide on-the-job training as needed. Preceptor for team members and clinical instructor for students and provides input to supervisors regarding training performance.</p> </li><li> <p>2 years previous experience required</p> </li><li> <p>Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technologist Program required</p> </li><li> <p>Valid License required issued by governing body American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT (R)</p> </li><li> <p>LA LRT License</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support, BLS - HCP</p> </li></ul>
