<p>Electrical Designer - MEP</p> <p>Department: MEP</p> <p>Employment Type: Full Time</p> <p>Location: Orlando, FL</p> <p>Description</p> <p>CPH is a multi-disciplinary Engineering and Architecture firm that ranks in the nation's Top 500 Design Firms by ENR Magazine. We are seeking an Electrical Designer to join our dynamic MEP team in Orlando, FL!</p> <p>The Electrical Designer will design and draft electrical engineering systems for a variety of project types including commercial, government, restaurant, industrial, retail centers, office buildings, site/street lighting, and lift stations. Assist on multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate with other engineering disciplines to complete tasks on schedule and on budget. Ideal candidate is self-motivated and works effectively in a team or individual situations. Must have excellent communication skills and able to prioritize work activities.</p> <p>Duties Include</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with project teams to develop electrical design concepts, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems. </li><li>Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard software and design tools. </li><li>Perform calculations and analysis for load sizing, voltage drop, circuit protection, and energy efficiency in compliance with relevant codes and standards. </li><li>Coordinate and communicate effectively with other engineering disciplines, architects, and clients to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs. </li><li>Conduct field surveys and assessments to gather information about existing electrical systems and infrastructure. </li><li>Review and evaluate electrical specifications, equipment submittals, and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements and industry best practices. </li><li>Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers, ensuring the accuracy and quality of their work. </li><li>Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical design technologies, codes, and regulations, and incorporate them into project deliverables. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Bachelor's degree is preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within a consulting or design firm. </li><li>Proficiency in utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools for electrical design. </li><li>Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, such as NEC, NFPA, and IEEE. </li><li>Experience with power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm systems, and low voltage systems. </li><li>Familiarity with electrical system components, equipment, and materials. </li></ul> <p>#LI-SK1</p> <p>Compensation & Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Dependent upon experience. </li><li>CPH offers Medical, Dental and Vision and Long-Term Disability with a quality insurance company. </li><li>Company Paid Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability. </li><li>401K, Paid Personal Time Off, Paid Holidays, and Paid Paternal Leave. </li></ul>
