<p>Office Land Surveyor I / II / III</p> <p>Own Your Future at Psomas</p> <p>Join a 100% employee-owned firm built for long-term thinking, shared success, and meaningful impact.</p> <p>As our Office Land Surveyor I / II / III for our Survey & Geospatial team in Southern California, you'll support project delivery, collaborate with a growing team, and contribute to a wide range of surveying and mapping services across infrastructure projects.</p> <p>Why Psomas</p> <ul> <li>Shared Success: An ownership culture that rewards long-term thinking and doing what's right. </li><li>Retirement Benefits: Company-funded ESOP + 401(k) with immediate match. </li><li>Hybrid Flexibility: Flexible and hybrid work options that support collaboration and focused work. </li><li>Career Growth: Clear pathways, mentorship, training, and opportunities to expand technical expertise. </li><li>People-First Culture: Collaborative teams that invest in your development. </li><li>Meaningful Work: Projects across transportation, rail, energy, and private development that impact communities. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>As an Office Land Surveyor I / II / III, you will support survey projects from initiation through completion, contributing technical expertise while collaborating with internal teams and supporting project delivery efforts.</p> <ul> <li>Project Coordination & Support </li></ul> <p>Support technical survey work alongside surveyors, CAD drafters, engineers, subcontractors, and agencies to prepare drawings, submittals, and specifications.</p> <ul> <li>Technical Surveying & Analysis </li></ul> <p>Assist with surveying tasks including research and analysis, title reports, right-of-way engineering, ALTA surveys, design surveys, topographic mapping, photogrammetry, LiDAR processing, and boundary mapping.</p> <ul> <li>Mapping & Deliverables </li></ul> <p>Draft technical exhibits and prepare final survey deliverables for agency submittals and project requirements.</p> <ul> <li>Research & Calculations </li></ul> <p>Conduct boundary research and retracement analysis; perform survey calculations and support field-related computations.</p> <ul> <li>Project Documentation & Systems </li></ul> <p>Support RFIs, reports, schedules, and maintain project file systems and digital survey records.</p> <ul> <li>Team Collaboration & Client Support </li></ul> <p>Assist Project Surveyors with daily coordination while supporting collaboration across disciplines and helping build client relationships.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>2-8+ years of land surveying experience or a Bachelor's degree in Geomatics or a related field </li><li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Proficiency with CADD software </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>LSIT (Land Surveyor in Training) certification </li><li>Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center (TBC), Carlson, MicroStation, or InRoads </li><li>Public mapping experience (subdivision maps, parcel maps, records of survey, legal descriptions, exhibits) </li><li>Topographic design mapping experience </li><li>Ability to read and interpret deeds and legal descriptions </li><li>Knowledge of boundary survey principles </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Hourly Range: $31.00 - $50.00 per hour (commensurate with experience) </li><li>Incentives: Discretionary bonus and recognition programs </li><li>Time Off: 3 weeks PTO plus 8 paid holidays </li><li>Total Rewards: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, employer-paid life and disability insurance, and employee ownership and retirement benefits </li></ul> <p>Our Hiring Approach</p> <p>Our recruiting team reviews every application personally and will keep candidates informed throughout the process.
