<p>It's a great time to join the City of Boulder!</p> <p>Application Deadline:</p> <p>March 24, 2026</p> <p>Compensation Details:</p> <p>Full Pay Range</p> <p>21.01 - 29.40</p> <p>Generally, the hiring range is from the minimum up to 80% of the range.This is a full-time hourly position.</p> <p>Scheduled Weekly Hours:</p> <p>40</p> <p>Benefit Eligibility Group:</p> <p>Seasonal Traditional</p> <p>Locate the Benefit Eligibility Group value on the Employee Benefit Eligibility document to identify the benefits offered for this job.</p> <p>Job Description Summary:</p> <p>Under direct supervision, the Water Resources Maintenance Crew Member performs basic maintenance work in the watershed area.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Performs basic maintenance work in the watershed area, including fence and road repair, cutting and hauling timber, and clearing spillways and dams of timber and debris. </li><li>Hikes several miles carrying tools to reach work site locations when necessary. </li><li>Performs related duties as required to meet the needs of the city. </li><li>Knows and complies with all city and department policies and participates in professional trainings and development. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Ability to be a team player. Understands role within team and works to complete duties to the best of one's ability. Works respectfully and collaboratively with other team members. Performs with a positive attitude. Builds relationships with team members. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate professional maturity. Is accountable for actions and responsibilities, dependable, reliable and on-time for work. </li><li>Ability to frequently lift and carry materials and supplies. </li><li>Ability to navigate changing circumstances, priorities and approaches. </li><li>Ability to take proper safety precautions to prevent accidents including use of all required safety equipment and following all safety regulations, policies, procedures and reporting requirements. </li><li>Skill as an effective communicator. Actively listens to concerns and is open to the ideas of supervisors and colleagues. Communicates tactfully and effectively. </li><li>Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record. </li><li>Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>No preferred qualifications. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Working towards or completed High School diploma, or GED. </li><li>No experience required. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION</p> <p>Supervision Received: Water Resources Operations Supervisor</p> <p>Supervision Exercised: None</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Physical and Mental Effort: Ability to perform a wide range of strenuous, physical work in a high-altitude outdoor environment with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and requiring frequent standing, walking and kneeling for extended periods of time. Upper body strength to lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permits the employee to communicate effectively in person. Sufficient vision or other powers of observation and manual dexterity that permits the employee to operate all required equipment. </li><li>Work Environment: Works in a high-altitude, outdoor environment with an exposure to a variety of weather conditions. Employee must live in employer-provided accommodations at Silver Lake Watershed Monday through Friday, or as otherwise negotiated. Silver Lake Watershed is 13 miles from Nederland, CO, which is the nearest town. Employee sleeps in shared co-ed bunkhouse and has access to shared co-ed bathhouse. Employee works an eight (8) hour shift each day. Employee carpools between Boulder and Silver Lake in a city vehicle at the start and end of the work week. During non-working hours, employee must comply with city rules, regulations, and policies while on-site. </li><li>Machines and Equipment Used: Lawn mower, weed-eater, jackhammer, pickup truck, hand and power tools including pick, shovel and chain saw, two-way radio and phone. </li></ul> <p>Additional Job Description:</p> <p>Last updated: October 2025</p> <p>The City of Boulder is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
