The ideal candidate will have a strong background in secondary education, with the ability to create individualized learning plans to help students succeed. The teacher will provide academic instruction in a supportive, engaging, and safe environment, working closely with students to meet their educational goals while implementing a comprehensive progress monitoring system and targeted interventions for students making progress or needing additional support.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Instructional Design and Delivery:</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement curriculum tailored to GED preparation and credit recovery courses.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide differentiated instruction to help students achieve mastery of core academic concepts.</p> </li><li> <p>Create individualized learning plans and assessments based on students' academic needs and goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate instruction in core subject areas, including Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide instructional support for students using online or blended learning platforms, as applicable.</p> </li><li> <p>Student Support:</p> </li><li> <p>Build strong, supportive relationships with students to foster a positive and respectful learning environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Offer one-on-one academic support, guidance, and mentorship to students in the credit recovery and GED programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Track student progress regularly and make adjustments to instructional strategies as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, and support staff to monitor and address student progress, behavior, and academic challenges.</p> </li><li> <p>Encourage and motivate students to take ownership of their learning and future educational goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Progress Monitoring and Intervention:</p> </li><li> <p>Implement a systematic progress monitoring system to track student performance regularly, identifying both areas of success and areas requiring additional support.</p> </li><li> <p>Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate student understanding and achievement.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement targeted interventions for students who are not making adequate progress, including one-on-one tutoring, differentiated instructional strategies, and additional academic support.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify students who need additional help early and coordinate with counselors and support staff to create intervention plans.</p> </li><li> <p>Regularly review student progress with administrators and other staff to determine appropriate interventions or adjustments to instructional strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>For students making strong progress, provide enrichment opportunities to further enhance their learning experience and help them achieve accelerated success.</p> </li><li> <p>Assessment and Reporting:</p> </li><li> <p>Administer and analyze student assessments to measure academic growth and readiness for the GED exam or credit recovery completion.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide regular updates and feedback to students, parents, and administrators regarding student progress and achievements.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with district policies and state requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in regular meetings with school leadership and team members to review student performance and make data-driven instructional decisions.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaboration and Professional Development:</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in adult education, GED preparation, and credit recovery.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with colleagues in the district to share instructional strategies and resources.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in school and district-wide initiatives to improve student achievement and educational outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Classroom Management and Environment:</p> </li><li> <p>Create a structured, respectful, and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive learning space.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that classroom resources, including materials and technology, are used effectively and efficiently to support student learning.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Education, Secondary Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).</p> </li><li> <p>Current teaching certification (preferably in secondary education).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience teaching high school students, preferably in a GED or credit recovery program.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of the GED test subjects (Math, English, Science, Social Studies).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with instructional technology and online learning platforms.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with progress monitoring tools and implementing academic interventions.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to build strong relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to work with at-risk students and provide individualized support.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.</p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Full-time position (40 hours per week).</p> </li><li> <p>The work schedule will align with the school district's academic calendar.</p> </li><li> <p>Occasional after-hours work may be required for meetings, student conferences, or additional program activities.</p> </li></ul> <p>Compensation:</p> <ul>
