<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Beckman Center for Mental Health Services. This position will be based at the Abbeville Mental Health Clinic, 101 Commercial Drive, Abbeville, SC 29620, providing services throughout Beckman's catchment area.</p> <p>The Office of Mental Health's mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.</p> <p>Under general supervision, as the Veteran Services Mental Health Professional, you will provide culturally competent mental health services, in accordance with the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Model of Care , which will include but not be limited to assessment, crisis management, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy to veterans, members of the armed forces, or individuals who have experienced significant trauma.</p> <p>Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I:</p> <ul> <li>Provide mental health services in a culturally competent manner which will include but not be limited to assessment, crisis management, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy to Veterans or members of the Armed Forces who are diagnosed with a mental illness and their family members and individuals who have experienced significant trauma. Formulate patient and family centered plans of care and maintain accurate medical records, ensuring that documentation is in compliance with OMH and Center Quality Assurance Standards. </li><li>Maintain medical records documentation standards in accordance with all QA, OMH and CARF policies and procedures. </li><li>Ensure each patient has a LOC established and updated quarterly and is treated at the frequency recommended. </li><li>Provide outreach to the local Veteran's Affairs Offices and other affiliated entities. </li><li>Participate in the Center's emergency/crisis services by providing telephonic and/or face-to-face contact, to include screenings, assessments of persons for possible hospitalization with the Veterans and members of the Armed Forces. </li><li>Participate as an active member of the clinical team. Participate and is engaged in supervisory meetings, staffings, treatment team meetings, and administrative meetings. Is prepared to staff cases that need clinical attention when meeting with treatment team and supervisor. </li><li>Gather and submit outcome data in compliance with all QA, OMH, and CARF policies and procedures. </li><li>Adhere to corporate compliance, safety, fire, CARF, HIPPA, and Cultural Compliance policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must qualify for credentialing and privileging as a mental health professional and in accordance with Quality Assurance standards and with concurrence by OMH Office of Quality Management. </li><li>In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience.
