<p>Job Description:</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY: The major responsibility of the position is teaching theory and clinical courses to students in the Associate Degree Program in Nursing at the Quincy and/or Plymouth Campuses. The work schedule may include late afternoon or evening class instruction and/or weekend clinical instruction. Other responsibilities include student advising, curriculum development, test construction, assignment to Division of Nursing and College committees, and other duties as assigned by the Dean of Nursing. This position may require teaching at both the Quincy Campus and/or Plymouth Campus thus travel between the Quincy and Plymouth campuses may be required.</p> <p>EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: Master's Degrees in Nursing from an accredited college or university required.</p> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Current licensure in good standing as a registered nurse in Massachusetts required;</p> <p>Minimum of five years of full-time employment in nursing or its equivalent within the past five years and evidence of clinical competence in area of clinical instruction required;</p> <p>Academic teaching experience required to teach within the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing Program, including but not limited to a concentration in Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical Nursing or Maternity/Pediatrics;</p> <p>Knowledge of or experience teaching n a Concept Based Curriculum preferred;</p> <p>Laboratory and/or clinical simulation teaching experience preferred;</p> <p>Experience in academic nursing curriculum development, use of multimedia teaching strategies, and assessment of learning including test construction is preferred;</p> <p>Ability to teach Face-to-face, Online, Hybrid, Remote, or blended;</p> <p>Understanding of and commitment to Associate Degree and Practical Nursing Education;</p> <p>Ability to commit to flexible work arrangements;</p> <p>Current CPR certification;</p> <p>Ability to meet clinical site CORI and immunization requirements pursuant to licensing and CHSB regulations;</p> <p>Health requirements:</p> <p>Two MMR's or positive titers indicating immunity;</p> <p>Completed Hepatitis B series and/or positive titer indicating immunity;</p> <p>Varicella antibody titers;</p> <p>TD within 10 years;</p> <p>Annual negative PPD or Chest X-ray within 7 years for positive responders;</p> <p>Annual flu shot.</p> <p>Qualified applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations.</p> <p>Additional Requirements: Successful completion of Quincy College's certification program (Canvas, Quality Matters, TSR) for teaching or, in the sole determination of Quincy College, the equivalent of that program.</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A.</p> <p>TRAVEL: This position may require teaching at both the Quincy Campus and/or Plymouth Campus. Assignment/ travel between the Quincy and Plymouth campuses may be required.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Participate with other members of the teaching team in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing courses and program policies;</p> <p>Evaluate student performance and competence in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings;</p> <p>Assume a leadership role in delineating and articulating nursing content in assigned course;</p> <p>Collaborate with appropriate faculty from other academic disciplines and the behavioral sciences to facilitate and integrate a correlated approach to course offerings;</p> <p>Participate with other course members in the annual review or revision of course outlines, bibliographies, study guides, media, and other related course materials;</p> <p>Contribute to the systematic evaluation of all components of the Nursing Program;</p> <p>Work to prepare patient assignments, educate, and evaluate students in diverse clinical and laboratory settings;</p> <p>Advise assigned students; maintain student advising and office hours</p> <p>Maintain attendance and clinical records for assigned students;</p> <p>Maintain communication with members of the teaching team, and the Dean of Nursing;</p> <p>Collaborate with college personnel and the staff of health care agencies;</p> <p>Participate in the development of contractual agreements with selected health care agencies for student clinical experiences;</p> <p>Assist in the preparation of inter and intra communications;</p> <p>Participate in the process of developing the Associate Degree Program in Nursing budget;</p> <p>Demonstrate motivation, self-direction, and perseverance toward achieving the philosophy and mission of the Division of Nursing;</p> <p>Continue to improve expertise in nursing and teaching through academic study, clinical practice, and other appropriate activities;</p> <p>Serve on Division of Nursing and College organization committees, and adhere to the provided bylaws of the Nursing department.</p> <p>Participate in mandatory training/coursework.</p> <p>Title IX and Sexual Misconduct</p> <p>Sexual Harassment and Non-Discrimination</p> <p>Security Notification and Reporting</p> <p>FERPA</p> <p>Municipal Ethics Law</p> <p>Assume other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>EEO Statement:</p> <p>Quincy College is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing an environment that is free from discrimination and harassment based on race, age, creed, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, gender, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or pregnancy.
