<p>About Boston Prep</p> <p>Boston Prep is a college-preparatory charter public district, made up of a single-site middle and high school. In 2025-2026, our community will include 700 students in grades 6-12, nearly 500 alumni, over 150 faculty members, and hundreds of families. The majority of our students and families reside in Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our students and build a brighter future for our community.</p> <p>As a Speech Language Pathologist...</p> <p>Service Delivery</p> <ul> <li>Providing services in a variety of settings in grades 6-12 including pull-out, small group support, push-in support in the general education classroom, and social skills group. </li><li>Administering speech language evaluations, developing evaluation reports, interpreting/presenting evaluation reports at Team meetings. </li><li>Participating in IEP Team meetings, developing IEP goals and tracking student progress </li><li>Meeting with general education teachers, special education teachers and the Director of Special Education regarding implementation of accommodations in regular education classrooms. </li><li>Maintaining regular contact with parents including writing progress reports at each semester for relevant students. </li><li>Continually gathering and using data to inform instruction. </li><li>Actively pursuing professional development, inside and outside of the school. </li></ul> <p>Classroom Culture, Student Relationships, and Family Partnership</p> <ul> <li>Build strong relationships with students to promote confidence and engagement in mathematics instruction. </li><li>Communicate regularly with families about academic progress and intervention goals. </li><li>Provide families with strategies to support reading development at home. </li><li>Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth. </li><li>Model empathy and maintain high expectations for all learners. </li><li>Participate in family conferences, school events, and community engagement activities. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration and School Culture</p> <ul> <li>Attend and participate in weekly staff professional development, including One Team meetings, department meetings, and grade-level meetings. </li><li>Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and school leadership. </li><li>Contribute positively to Boston Prep's collaborative and mission-driven school culture. </li><li>Support school systems and structures with fidelity. </li><li>Participate in school-wide initiatives that strengthen student success. </li></ul> <p>Education, Qualifications, and Certifications/Licensure:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree or a related field required</p> </li><li> <p>Master's degree preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Qualifications</p> </li><li> <p>Experience supporting struggling students through targeted interventions</p> </li><li> <p>Licensed, ASHA Certified Speech Language Pathologist.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to the philosophy that all students, regardless of disability should be given the opportunity to succeed at the same level as their peers and should be fully expected to do so.</p> </li><li> <p>Prior experience facilitating the high achievement of Special Education students.</p> </li></ul> <p>Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Massachusetts teaching license in the appropriate subject area. OR A passing score on the Communications & Literacy MTEL, as well as a MTEL in the content area(s) they teach within their first year of employment at Boston Prep </li><li>An SEI Endorsement (core academic and special education teachers only) as defined by DESE, within their first year of employment at Boston Prep </li></ul> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>This role is only for 0.8 - 4 Days a week</p> <p>The salary range for this role is $74,406 - $125,759. Final compensation will be based on years of experience.
