<p>The Parking Lot Attendant provides parking information to faculty, staff, and visitors and enforces traffic safety on campus, as well as control parking and traffic on campus.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school degree required. </li><li>This positition will require an average of 15-20 hours of overtime each week during the academic year. </li><li>Must be able to work evenings, nights, and weekends. </li><li>Must hold a current and clear United States driver's license. </li><li>Must display a customer-first, solution-oriented attitude. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to accurately and efficiently perform math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) </li><li>Outstanding customer service skills. </li><li>Patience and empathy. </li><li>Ability to work well under pressure. </li><li>Ability to clearly communicate directions and instructions. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Greet visitors such as parents, VIP's to the campus. Control traffic flow on campus </li><li>Must have knowledge of parking lots and campus buildings Assist with on site training of new employees </li><li>Regulate the space availability in parking areas </li><li>Enforce parking regulations in own lot such as issuing tickets to non-permit holders. Monitor 2- way radio and phones for emergency or change in daily routine. </li><li>Knowledge of campus and surrounding areas. </li><li>Must be alert and attentive to surroundings and activities </li><li>Work with emergency crews to allow them access to an area so they can perform their job responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner. </li><li>High level of communication skills. </li><li>Money transactions and daily book keeping skills </li><li>Some knowledge of computer program office uses for looking up vehicle information. Basic up keep, both inside and outside of work areas in all types of weather conditions. Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment such as ticket spitters in case of male-function.
