<p>Job Title Student Transit Driver & Garage Staff ( Afternoon Shifts ) Monday-Friday Special Instructions to Applicants Posting Number 20161637STD Job Description</p> <p>Student Transit Driver & Garage Staff duties may include the following:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Operates transportation services for students, faculty/staff and visitors of Ohio University to include scheduled university routes, on-demand transportation resources, accessibility transport & special event accommodations.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides superior customer service and safe, efficient transport to customers with adherence to all university, state, and federal laws and regulations. Assists with the handling of equipment/luggage, materials & supplies. Performs routine vehicle inspection activities and maintains proper transportation documentation to ensure compliance with all position requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for cleaning, inspecting and general maintenance duties associated with university fleet to include washing and fueling of vehicles.</p> </li></ol> <p>This position's focus is to provide excellent customer service and safe efficient and reliable transport to customers with adherence to all university state and federal laws and regulations.</p> <ul> <li>Position will be required to work with scheduling software at times and should exhibit a willingness to learn new technologies. </li><li>This position includes morning as well as evening shift opportunities (12:30pm-6pm). </li><li>Training in each vehicle type will be provided. Position is contingent upon passing all aspects of departmental driver training course. </li></ul> <p>Student drivers are expected to assist with:</p> <ul> <li>CATS Shuttle Bus Loops </li><li>Fleet Rental Vehicle Cleaning </li><li>Events on campus needing transportation </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be a current student enrolled at Ohio University or Hocking College (undergrad minimum-6 credit hours, grad minimum-5 credit hours) or attend a local area high school or secondary school during the normal academic year. </li><li>Must have valid United States Class D license in good standing with demonstrated safe driving record. </li><li>Minimum of 1 year of applicable experience </li><li>Must be flexible with work hours, shifts are built around your class schedule. </li><li>Positive & professional attitude with good customer service and communication abilities. </li><li>Long periods of standing and crouching to detail fleet vehicles.
