<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Speech and Language Pathologist-Pre-K</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>Ansonia Public Schools is seeking a qualified Speech and Language Pathologist to serve as an integral part of the Planning and Placement Team for the Elementary Level. The Speech and Language Pathologist will function as a member of the total diagnostic team by providing assessment, comprehensive differential diagnosis, educational planning and support as well as therapy for students with speech/language communication disorders and delays. Speech and language services may be delivered in a variety of ways alone or in collaboration with teachers and other service providers in order to best support students in the general curriculum, i.e., the least restrictive environment.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <ul> <li>Providing high quality speech-language therapy services. </li><li>Conducting assessments, analyzing results, and writing reports to determine strengths and concerns in areas of speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, and oral motor skills. </li><li>Developing treatment plans (IEPs) that are strength-based as well as child and family centered for overall educational improvement. </li><li>Ensuring evaluations, treatment plans and service delivery are aligned with school, state, and federal guidelines. </li><li>Assisting and guiding teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language delays/disorders. </li><li>Consulting with teaching teams to develop and implement curriculum accommodations, modifications and appropriate classroom strategies and data collection. </li><li>Other duties as directed by the Director of Pupil Services or Building Administrators. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess or be eligible for CT Certification (061) </li><li>Knowledge of ABA principals preferred </li><li>AAC experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Application Process:</p> <p>Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, 3 signed letters of recommendation and relevant certifications through the online application.</p>
