This position will be based in our Denver, Colorado lab facility, and will report to the Lab Director. This position will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and improving the lab's Quality Management System in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. This position will work closely with laboratory management and customer service to identify, investigate, and correct quality issues as they arise.</p> <ul> <li>Looking for applicants who already reside within the Denver, CO region. Looking to fill the position as soon as possible. </li></ul> <p>Schedule</p> <p>This will be a full-time exempt employee position working Monday through Friday. Specific shift details will be discussed by the hiring manager. Applicants with schedule flexibility will be preferred.</p> <p>Salary:</p> <p>Starting salary to be approx. $75,000, dependent upon experience and final decision of the hiring manager.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate various laboratory accreditation activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that the QMS is maintained in accordance with the ISO 17025:2017 standard, state regulations for Cannabis and Hemp, and all other applicable standards & regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Keep abreast of and update the Lab Director on information regarding:</p> </li><li> <p>All federal and state regulations pertaining to cannabis and Hemp.</p> </li><li> <p>Applicable internationally recognized standards and methods.</p> </li><li> <p>Current best practices for Quality Assurance within the international analytical testing community.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure the laboratory maintains all applicable accreditation/certifications.</p> </li><li> <p>Guide supervisory personnel on the Quality Management System requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage the Internal Audit program and ensure audit-readiness within the laboratory.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and analyze trends to ensure the continued quality of testing services. This includes:</p> </li><li> <p>Identifying data that is reflective of the laboratories' performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Periodic analysis and distribution of trend data.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide feedback on trend data to relevant staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead external audits, including audits from clients, an accrediting body, regulatory agency, or government official.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage the creation, review, retention, and distribution of documents and records controlled by the quality management system.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage the Vendor Approval process.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure Proficiency Testing is properly conducted in accordance to a defined schedule.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure proper handling of Corrective Actions and nonconforming situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor the maintenance and calibration of equipment and instrumentation, and report any issues to the Lab Director.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor the handling of customer inquiries and other forms of feedback received to ensure customer needs are properly addressed and identify any needs for improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor the environmental conditions of the laboratory, and report any issues to the Lab Director.</p> </li><li> <p>Report on the performance of the QMS during periodic Management Reviews.</p> </li><li> <p>Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by company management.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 21 years of age. </li><li>Ability and experience to step in and help to manage daily lab operations in the absence of the Lab Director. </li><li>Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office, LIMS, Ideagen, and Google Suite. </li><li>Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. </li><li>Ability to coordinate efforts of colleagues to maintain and improve the Quality Management System. </li></ul> <p>Required Education & Experience::</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or greater in one of the natural sciences. </li><li>Fluency with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, in addition to applicable State and Federal regulations for Cannabis and Hemp. </li><li>At least two years of full-time laboratory experience in a regulated laboratory environment performing analytical scientific testing in which the testing methods were recognized by an accrediting body. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must obtain an Occupational License from the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division; before the start date. </li><li>Position involves working in a typical chemical/biological laboratory environment, PPE provided. </li><li>Extended time in front of a computer. </li><li>Occasional travel to other labs may be required. </li></ul> <p>Benefits Offered:</p> <ul> <li>Medical (HDHP with HSA is one option), Dental, and Vision insurance. </li><li>Paid Holidays and Flexible Paid Time Off. </li><li>401(k) Plan with a Company Match. </li><li>Employer Paid Life coverage, as well as Optional Life Coverage. </li><li>Flexible Spending Account. </li></ul> <p>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
