<p>The North Carolina Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention is committed to the reduction and prevention of juvenile delinquency by effectively intervening, educating and treating at-risk and justice-involved youth to strengthen families and enhance public safety.</p> <p>This is a REPOST. The physical location for this position may change to meet the needs of the Division.</p> <p>Juvenile Justice is looking for an energetic candidate who has excellent communication skills, can work independently, has excellent organization skills, is a team player and is a proactive problem solver. Excellent customer service skills are a must.</p> <p>This position is responsible for the Criminal Justice employment processing of applicants for all certified positions assigned to the Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. This position may be assigned to process non-certified candidates.</p> <p>This position will conduct thorough review of applicant information (application, previous employment documentation, DCI background check, military discharge documentation) to ensure that the applicant is eligible for employment in a Criminal Justice certified position. This position requires a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Criminal Justice and DPS policy/standards. Any additional documentation that may be needed from the applicant shall be requested. This position will contact applicants and schedules for the Criminal Justice (CJ) processing appointments.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Obtain fingerprint and DCI Operator certification as well as be a Notary Public. </p> </li><li> <p>Run, read, and interpret a thorough DCI background check.</p> </li><li> <p>Administer pre-employment testing, contact medical vendors as needed, consult with managers and subject matter experts on complex issues, and respond to a wide variety of questions from applicants and work location managers.</p> </li><li> <p>Calling out approvals to hire and obtaining start dates from work locations.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain applicant hiring records.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires close interaction with HR staff and managers with Juvenile Justice. </p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for high volume work and the ability to meet deadlines to help ensure critical vacancies are filled in a timely manner. Failure to process applicants in a timely manner and/or failure to conduct a thorough review of the applicant's record may result in a public safety risk as positions are not filled or criminal justice functions cannot be performed.</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule:</p> <p>This is a full-time position. Work hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.
