<p>Lipscomb Academy seeks a creative, passionate, and team-oriented theatre educator to lead an intentionally Christian theatre program for grades 6 -12. This full-time faculty member will partner with the grades 6 -12 Director of Theatre to teach theatre classes, direct or support extracurricular productions, and participate fully in school life, including duties assigned to all faculty members.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teach theatre courses covering topics such as acting, directing, stagecraft, and theatre history.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with 4 extracurricular productions (2 middle school and 2 high school), which may involve serving as director, technical director, or coordinating guest directors.</p> </li><li> <p>Support all departmental productions and manage theatre equipment and resources.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentor students in both performance and technical roles, promoting their growth and leadership in productions.</p> </li><li> <p>Foster a positive, classroom environment that encourages participation and creativity.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide timely, constructive feedback on student performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with theatre-related clubs and student organizations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills and Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Proficiency in acting, directing, stagecraft, costuming, lighting, and all technical aspects of production.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective communication and professionalism with students, parents, and staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with budget management and front-of-house operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Background in improvisation, creative drama techniques, and digital tools for theatre production.</p> </li></ul> <p>This role requires availability for evening and weekend rehearsals and performances to ensure the success of productions.</p> <p>Degree in applicable field(s) required; teaching licensure preferred.</p>
