<p>Reporting to the Office of College Readiness and Transfer Success Leadership, the Transfer Support Advisor is responsible for the administration of transfer student services aimed at facilitating seamless transitions between higher education institutions. Through collaboration with Transfer Student Success professionals across OneUSF and St. Petersburg College, the advisor oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and programs designed to motivate and prepare transfer students for their academic journey. By creating opportunities for increased knowledge of the transfer process, the advisor ensures an efficient student experience with measurable outcomes. Working closely with schools and community organizations across Pinellas County, the office promotes college readiness, seamless transfer pathways, and timely degree completion. Central to this mission, the Pinellas Access to Higher Education (PATHe) program provides targeted outreach and individualized support to reduce barriers, strengthen onboarding, and improve retention and long-term success.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience advising college students. </li></ul> <p>This position requires a post baccalaureate degree in Education, Counseling or an academic field directly related to the responsibilities of the position, or a Bachelor's degree in those same fields with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.</p> <p>Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.</p> <p>SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements</p> <p>A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:</p> <ul> <li>(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree; </li><li>(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree; </li><li>(c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree; </li><li>(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or </li><li>(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree </li></ul> <p>Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Professional experience working with college transfer students </li><li>Knowledge of various types of higher education institutions, admissions requirements, degree programs, and workforce industries </li><li>Experience planning and facilitating multiple projects with competing timelines </li><li>Knowledge of Pinellas County, particularly local cultures, interests, and history. </li></ul> <p>This position may be subject to a level 1 or Level 2 background check.</p> <p>ADA Accommodations: Applicants for USF employment are entitled to request reasonable accommodations in the application process.
