<p>The Lead Shift Relief Operator is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of the generating station. This role provides leadership across all operating shifts, ensures compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements, and supports optimal plant performance. The position requires strong technical expertise, sound decision-making, and the ability to respond effectively to both routine operations and emergency situations.</p> <li>Promote and ensure a strong "Ahlstrom Care365" culture for employees, contractors, and visitors. </li><li>Maintain full compliance with environmental permits, regulatory requirements, and company policies. </li><li>Support employee engagement, job satisfaction, and open communication across operations. </li><li>Operate plant equipment in accordance with dispatch instructions and operational requirements. </li><li>Provide shift coverage for Control Room Operators (CRO) and Plant Equipment Operators (PEO) to minimize overtime. </li><li>Troubleshoot complex operational and maintenance issues and respond to emergencies. </li><li>Optimize plant performance to maximize efficiency, reliability, and revenue generation. </li><li>Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities with management approval. </li><li>Maintain the long-term integrity and reliability of plant assets. </li><li>Assist with contractor oversight and plant maintenance activities. </li><li>Maintain and manage operator shift schedules and on-call coverage. </li></ul> indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions. </li><li>Physical demands include walking, climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces. </li><li>Exposure to industrial hazards such as high voltage, noise, heat, pressure systems, and mechanical equipment. </li><li>Must be able to respond to callouts and emergencies, including during adverse weather conditions. </li><li>Stress levels may increase during plant outages or high-demand periods. </li></ul> Operation Manual and Energy Services Agreement</p> <p>o Occupational Health and Safety regulations</p> <p>o Company safety policies and procedures</p> <p>o Equipment manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices</p> <ul> <li>Monitor plant systems and performance to identify issues affecting efficiency or output. </li><li>Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and corrective actions as needed. </li><li>Ensure proper use of the CMMS (Ultimo) system for work orders and maintenance tracking. </li><li>Prepare accurate production, outage, and operational reports. </li><li>Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities. </li><li>Ensure proper handling, containment, and disposal of waste materials. </li><li>Develop, review, and train personnel on operating procedures. </li><li>Report equipment deficiencies and emergency situations promptly and follow escalation protocols. </li><li>Maintain plant equipment to prevent abnormal wear and extend asset life. </li></ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>5-years power plant or industrial experience </li><li>Knowledge of high-voltage systems and switching procedures </li><li>Ability to work rotating
