<p>Job Purpose</p> <p>The Quality Inspector role involves day-to-day product and process audits, responsible for daily spot and in process quality checks on products and receiving. This includes visual inspections then documenting information to ensure quality standards are maintained.</p> <p>This position is on our Day Shift- Monday through Thursday 6am to 4:30pm with overtime on Friday's as needed.</p> <p>Company Description</p> <p>Progress Rail stands at the intersection of legacy and innovation-driving the future of rail with a pioneering spirit. At Progress Rail, the team is not just building the future of rail-they are making history every day.</p> <p>Education / Training</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent. </li></ul> <p>Key Job Elements</p> <ul> <li>Process non-conforming material in production departments; </li><li>Conduct product audits/inspections on sub-assemblies and final products during and after production has completed their operations to see if the unit meets specifications; </li><li>Conduct in-process monitoring while product is being assembled and recording the associated defect data; </li><li>Assist in monitoring special projects; </li><li>Complete documentation requirements; e.g. Change Control, Height Sheets, Weights, Unit Folders, Inspection Records; </li><li>Act as a resource for problem-solving within departments; </li><li>Perform Quality System audits; </li><li>Maintain weld and crimp monitoring and sampling program; </li><li>Obtain all necessary documentation required to do in-process monitoring and audit function, e. g inspection plans, routings, prints, customer contracts, etc. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Preferred manufacturing and/or ability to read blue prints, tape measure, gauges; </li><li>Knowledge in core manufacturing process: areas: welding, mechanical, electrical, paint; </li><li>Ability to look up, read, understand, and interpret assembly instructions, prints, drawings or other documentation; Willing to train the right candidate; </li><li>Computer proficiency with MS Office applications to enter data; </li><li>Strong teamwork and verbal communication skills; able to point out errors in a constructive manner; </li><li>Demonstrate initiative and work ethic to work unsupervised and initiate action when required; </li><li>Continuous improvement-minded; </li><li>Possible domestic or international travel, <5%.<br> </li></ul> <p>EEO</p> <p>Progress Rail is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
