We're looking for a skilled and motivated professional to perform advanced technical and supervisory work in engineering and land surveying for electric and gas utility projects. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on fieldwork with office-based design, planning, and project management.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Perform sub-professional engineering or land surveying tasks, including topographic and boundary surveys. </li><li>Select routes for underground and overhead utilities and compile data for street right-of-way and easement surveys. </li><li>Conduct datum and coordinate system conversions, field-check completed drawings, and research documents to determine right-of-way locations, property ownership, deed lines, and easement locations. </li><li>Respond to public questions and complaints, and conduct a variety of traffic studies. </li><li>Plan, design, and prepare construction packages and cost estimates for electric and gas utility projects. </li><li>Exercise independent judgment in planning work details, making technical determinations, and managing assignments that are generally broad in scope. </li></ul> <p>Why This Role:</p> <p>This position offers the opportunity to work on critical utility projects that impact communities directly, combining technical skill, project management, and problem-solving in a dynamic environment. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to contribute to the planning and delivery of essential electric and gas utility infrastructure.</p> <p>Who We're Looking For:</p> <p>A detail-oriented, proactive professional who thrives in technical, hands-on work, enjoys solving complex problems, and is committed to delivering high-quality results.</p> <p>Take the next step in your career and help shape the future of our electric and gas utility systems!</p> <p>For the complete job specification, listing essential duties and desirable qualifications, go to Engineering Technician II or IV- Electric Utility</p> <p>Minimum Training & Experience</p> <p>Engineering Technician II:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>Two (2) years of post-secondary education or training in math, drafting, engineering, or engineering technology. </li><li>Two (2) years of hands-on technical or paraprofessional experience in drafting or engineering support. </li><li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered. </li></ul> <p>Engineering Technician IV:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED; </li><li>Six (6) years of electric utility experience in engineering, operation, design tasks or maintenance </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in math, science, or engineering technology; AND </li><li>Four (4) years of electric utility experience in engineering, operation, design tasks or maintenance </li></ul> <p>Necessary Special Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Valid Class E State (or equivalent) drivers license at the time of appointment </li><li>Individuals in this classification are considered essential during emergency and storm situations and must be able to work 16 hours per day for extended periods of time and may be required to be away from their family. </li><li>Individuals in this classification must be available to serve on-call and are subject to having to work outside of their assigned shift/schedule to meet operational needs. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$21.6689 to $58.7999/hourly.
