This test is given only after a conditional offer of employment is made to a candidate,</p> <p>Placement of this position is contingent upon negative Drug and Alcohol Tests and possession of a Commercial Drivers License.</p> <p>This position is first shift 7:00 am to 3:30 pm</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Is responsible for welding equipment and supplies. </li><li>Performs gas and electric arc and MIG welding to fabricate and repair all types of metal equipment, tools, and machinery and vehicular equipment and pans. </li><li>Pe1forms general overhaul and repair work as assigned by supervisor on brakes, ignition systems and transmission differentials. </li><li>Installs plow frames, moldboards, cutting edges and other work to support winter operations, </li><li>Performs other related duties assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent with courses in gas, electric arc? and MIG welding, or automotive repair and a combination of training and experience sufficient to perform the tasks and duties of the job in a satisfactory manner. </li><li>Considerable knowledge of the methods used in welding, cutting, brazing and heating metals. </li><li>Skill in acetylene and electric arc and MIG welding and in the use and maintenance of welding equipment and supplies; skill in the use and operation of tools and machinery used in automotive repairs. </li><li>Considerable knowledge of the materials, methods, tools and techniques used in the repair of light and heavy-duty automotive equipment. </li><li>Considerable knowledge of the operating principles of gasoline and diesel engines and the mechanical repair of heavy trucks and construction equipment. </li><li>Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade. </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement </li><li>Ability to complete a Confined Space course; ability to work in confined spaces and lift objects up to 75 pounds above waist level. </li><li>Ability to interpret and work from sketches and diagrams. </li><li>Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions. </li><li>Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. </li></ul> <p>The term "limited" means that the successful candidate will perform the job for an undetermined length of time.
