<p>Traffic, Parking, Alarm and Lighting</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Install and repair sign posts and signs </li><li>Apply pavement markings with paint machines, rollers, or brushes </li><li>Apply paint and/or refresh paint on crosswalks, turning arrows, lane markings, stop lines, and other traffic aids </li><li>Assist with traffic signal maintenance activities </li><li>Perform routine maintenance at parking facilities including painting, surface crack filling, maintenance of parking control equipment, trash collection, etc. </li><li>Operate departmental vehicles and equipment in a safe and responsible manner </li><li>Placement and /or delivery of barricades for street closings, community events, and other activities </li><li>Performs all general labor as directed by supervisors </li><li>Performs snow removal activities when requested </li><li>Respond promptly to radio and cellphone calls from supervisors and co-workers </li><li>Clean and secure all equipment and tools after use </li><li>Set up work safety zones in accordance with safety standards </li><li>Adhere to all safety standards and attend safety training as required </li><li>Work overtime when requested by supervisors </li><li>Performs other duties as requested by supervisors </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS AND ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS.</p> <ul> <li>Must be a high school graduate and be able to read and write </li><li>Must have a valid Massachusetts driver's license </li><li>Must have ability to lift 50 pound bags, carry bags at least 50 feet, and place bag on five foot high platform </li><li>Must be capable of operating painting machines and equipment </li><li>Must have ability to work on ladders and arial lifts on equipment up to 20' off the ground </li><li>Must be considerate and respectful of fellow employees and Quincy citizens </li></ul> <p>Remarks:Six months probationary period (for new employees);</p> <p>Laborers' Local #1139 union position, salary determined through Collective Bargaining Agreement;</p> <p>The City is an EO/AA Employer.</p> <p>Salary</p> <p>Start $952 Step 30 $1,143</p> <p>Applying for the Position</p> <p>To apply for the position, please visit the Submitting an Application for Employment Page Submitting an Application for Employment Page</p> <p>Published: May 26, 2026 at 02:31:25 PM</p>
