Duties of these positions will include, but not be limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Perform a variety of carpentry related duties, including but not limited to installations and repairs of flooring, repair and adjustment of doors and hardware, stairs, railings, and replacement of ceiling tile; </li><li>Perform journeyman locksmith related tasks including repair and installation of lock sets and key cores of various types. Maintains inventory of door hardware and keys. Cuts and issues keys; </li><li>Perform electrical duties including but not limited to replacing receptacles, light fixtures, and circuit breakers; </li><li>Repair, install and maintain swimming pool, plumbing fixtures, and appliances, including but not limited to: sinks, showers, baths, commodes, dishwashers, domestic water, and drainage distribution systems; </li><li>Perform a variety of painting related duties including but not limited to preparing surfaces, priming, and painting; </li><li>Perform maintenance, and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment including but not limited to bathroom exhaust fans, clothes dryers, sump pumps and generators, HVAC equipment; and </li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications Reassignment: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Trade's Generalist.</p> <p>Non-Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. Candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license.</p> <p>It is essential that candidates clearly and concisely indicate exactly how they meet the above minimum qualifications in their resume. Failure to show how you meet the minimum qualifications above may result in disqualification and removal from consideration.</p> <p>Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>This will be a permanent, non-competitive appointment. Promotions and transfers may change appointees' negotiating unit. Candidates should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits. Verification of valid New York State driver's license will be required at the time of interview for all candidates. Fingerprinting through the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Division of Criminal Justice Services, a background check with the Office of Children and Family Services and clearance from the Justice Center Staff Exclusion List is required for employment. Fees associated with this process are at the applicant's expense. Fees associated with fingerprinting do not apply if applicant's fingerprints exist in the NYS TEACH System. The work schedule for this position includes hours of 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday and includes a half hour unpaid lunch period.</p> <p>This position leads to a maximum salary of $61,548 based on annual performance advances. For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position.
