<p>Position: Aide, Physical Education</p> <p>Location: James H. Baker 6th Grade Campus</p> <p>Job Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Valid SBEC Educational Aide certificate </li><li>Associate's Degree or 48 or more college hours or NCLB ParaEducator Certification issued by San Jacinto College or other local educational entity </li></ul> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management and instruction. Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements </li><li>Work under the supervision of teacher(s) </li><li>Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative guidelines, local board policy and state law </li><li>Assist the teacher(s) in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays </li><li>Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by teacher(s) </li><li>Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments </li><li>Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom </li></ul> <p>Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:</p> <ul> <li>Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stoopping, pushing/pulling, and twisting </li><li>Motion: Frequent walking </li><li>Lifting: Frequent light lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (less than 15 pounds); occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (up to 50 pounds) </li><li>Environment: Work inside and outside, regular exposure to noise and the elements </li><li>Mental Demands: Maintain control under stress </li></ul> <p>Other Information</p> <p>Your application is not complete until three current references have been received. You will also need to attach a resume, letter of interest, and transcript or ParaEducator Certification issued by San Jacinto College or other local educational entity.</p> <p>The district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly.</p> <p>Pay Grade: Paraprofessional, Pay Grade 1, 187 Days</p> <p>Minimum: $12.04</p> <p>Midpoint: $14.50</p> <p>Compensation based on job-like experience.</p>
